I’m here to lovingly tell you:
Don’t wait until October to book your fall family photos.
(Also… I don’t know if you have been hearing that winter may come early this year and weather is supposed to be getting crazy! lol I’ll see it when I believe it, however, I’m also getting my family photos booked early too just in case… because I just love outdoor fall family photos! Snow’s cool… but I put my family photos up huge on the wall and I don’t want snow all year round… Just saying…)
Before you know it, we’re going to be knee-deep in pumpkin patches, football games, school activities, Halloween costumes, Thanksgiving plans and Christmas shopping…
…and suddenly you’re texting your photographer (which of course is me right!!):
“Do you have ANYTHING available before Christmas?” 
Let’s not do that this year.
Let’s get your family on the calendar NOW.
Fall is one of my absolute favorite times of year for family photography.
There’s just something about this season.
The cozy clothes.
The warm neutrals.
The little boots.
The sweaters.
The beautiful Texas light.
Your babies looking just a little bit older than they did last year.
And those photographs that somehow make your house feel even more like HOME.
Whether you’re planning updated family portraits, pictures for your Christmas cards, new artwork for the walls or simply want to document your family exactly as they are right now…
Fall is the perfect excuse.
But here’s the thing about fall photography…
Everyone wants it.
And there are only so many evenings and weekends in a photographer’s calendar.
That’s why I always encourage my families to reserve their fall session before fall actually arrives.
Your session date doesn’t need to be tomorrow.
You just need to get your spot secured.
Then you can check “family pictures” off your list and go enjoy the season.
What should we wear?
This is where the fun begins.

Warm browns
Creams & ivory
Black
Taupe & khaki Rust & muted autumn tones
Classic denim
Soft textures and layers
And if you’re thinking, “Ashley, I have NO idea what we’re all going to wear,”…
Don’t panic.
That’s literally what I’m here for.

And please don’t forget the babies.
This is probably the biggest reason I tell families not to wait.

These little seasons don’t repeat themselves.
That’s what makes photography so special.
We’re not just taking pictures of what your family looks like.
We’re documenting who they are right now.
The tiny hands.
The crooked smiles.
The missing teeth.
The belly laughs.
The way your toddler still wants to be carried.
The way your kids look at you.
Those are the things you’ll miss someday.
And those are exactly the things I want to give you back through your photographs.
