Cake Smash

Your One Year Session

When should I schedule my one year session?

That depends on you! Some parents want pictures back in time for the birthday party. If this is the case, then you would want to schedule the session a month in advance. Some parents don’t necessarily want pictures back in time for the party, but want to capture that moment as close was possible to their little one turning one! Freezing their personality at that particular time and all of the quirky little things they do at that time.

When do I start planning my one year session?

Probably around 6 months! We need to pick a theme to go with. You want to make sure there’s enough time to order special outfits if we need to order something, get the cake ordered, and if there are any additional props or backdrops I need to order special for your session.

What theme do I do? How will I choose?

This can be so easy and fun! What does your baby love? What are they into? What are you doing for the birthday party? It helps to not over complicate it. It can be exhausting doing two different themes for pictures and for the party, don’t stress, be simple.

Do I bring the cake?

Yes! You are in charge of the cake.

Do I have to do a cake? Is there an alternative?

Nope! Although cake still seems to be an ultimate fav, babies have done cereal, spaghetti, sweet breads for fiesta theme, and so much more! What does your baby love? I do recommend including something to smash or eat though, it makes for super fun pictures!

Can I squeeze in a family picture?

Sure! If you would like to squeeze in family, I make it quick! Babies at this age do not typically last long for a session. I’ll do family first and then jump right into the one year session! It can also be a great ice breaker and give baby a chance to warm up and let that personality shine!

So let’s get started!
