Maternity

Your Maternity Session

When should I schedule maternity photos?

Every woman is different! You typically want your maternity session to be between 6 and 8 months when belly is still high and hasn’t dropped, usually 7 months being the sweet spot. You don’t want to be super uncomfortable and miserable through your session! Some women bloom super early and some much later, typically new mommies.

What if I deliver early and I have already booked?

Yikes! This actually happens!! Sometimes when women schedule their maternity session a little late in pregnancy, they don’t make it to their maternity session. But hey! This is why you are here right now looking for guidance! That won’t be you.

Do you have gowns for my session?

Yes I do! I have a client closet to look through and am adding to it all the time!

What should I expect the day of my session?

This is the day we have been waiting for! We will of course go over your session in depth prior before, but it’s good to know what to expect especially if this is your first time!

Upon arrival, the studio will be completely set up and ready to go for you! You can expect your session to last about an hour. If we are having an outdoor session, it does get hot here in West Texas and that golden hour is at the end of a long day when you are pregnant. Snacks and water are a must for your session to avoid feeling not so good and light-headed.

Can I bring my kids and hubby? I don’t know if they will behave… including my hubby… lol

Absolutely! Please bring brother or sister or all of them! lol! Whether this is your 2nd or 6th, let’s make those memories! I’ve had plenty of experience with busy toddlers, fun tweens, and bored teens! Let’s not forget grumpy dads who do not love picture day! lol… Bring them! I typically will photograph family and siblings first upon arrival and then dad or a grandparent or friend can take all other kids and split while I focus on you! Dad’s do make great gown flickers though!!

My shoes do not fit… what do I do?!

No worries!! Seriously, a lot of times, you cannot even see your feet in maternity gowns… However, I totally get the shoe fetish for these amazing images… totally! Just bring “walking shoes” and pretty shoes.

So let’s get started!
