Your Newborn Session

When should I get newborn photos? Is it too early to plan?
It is not too early to plan! In fact, planning your maternity and newborn sessions ahead of time can help alleviate stress for sure! It can be hectic having a new little one! Just imagine if it were twins or triplets!
Although, ideally we want to get your little one’s newborn session done during those first two weeks of life, It’s not always possible. Unforeseen events happen and we need to push back a bit. Don’t stress! All babies are different and some need more time. Not all babies above were under two weeks old. In fact, I’ve successfully done newborn sessions up to 10 weeks. However, we do want them when they are still super sleepy, curl up, can more easily posed, less fussy, and before acne sets in. This is why the first two weeks are super ideal! Check this off your list and message or call me today!
What if I deliver early and I have already scheduled?
No worries! Sometimes babies are unpredictable and I arrange my schedule accordingly and will get you in as close to that two week mark as I can!
What do I bring?
Sessions are held at my studio in Big Spring, unless otherwise discussed. This is where the magic happens! My studio is full of endless props, cute little outfits made special just for their little size, as well as hats, and bows! Most parents walk in with just a diaper bag and a pacifier! I’ve got you covered! If there are any special items or heirlooms you would like bring, just let me know and I will plan for them!
What should I expect the day of my session?
This is the day we have been waiting for! We will of course go over your session in depth prior before, but it’s good to know what to expect especially if this is your first time!
Upon arrival, the studio will be completely set up and ready to go for you and your little family. Whether you will be joining your little one on picture day or if we will just be photographing baby, the studio will be warm and cozy, sanitized, and ready to go in a dark environment! You can expect to be at the studio for about 3 hours, depending on baby and feedings. Some babies take more time to settle than others and that’s perfectly fine! (You may have heard, I have patience for days lol)
Can I bring Siblings? I don’t know if they will behave…
Absolutely! Please bring brother or sister or all of them! lol! Whether this is your 2nd or 6th, let’s make those memories! I’ve had plenty of experience with busy toddlers, fun tweens, and bored teens! I typically will photograph family and siblings first upon arrival and then dad or a grandparent or friend can take all other kids and split! I know 3 hours can be a long time for everyone to be quiet and still while I focus on baby and if there is a busy toddler sometimes it’s safer as well. Safety is my number one priority during all sessions as I’m handling your precious little one.
My baby is so little… is it safe? They are still building their immune system…
I do everything possible to sanitize before every session. I do have a policy in place regarding illness. If myself or any client coming into the studio is ill, we will reschedule. I understand your little one has a very vulnerable immune system and I do my best to take precautions.

So let’s get started!
