Valentine’s Day is usually all hearts, chocolate, and overpriced flowers…
but let’s be honest — when you’re pregnant or holding a brand-new baby, romance looks a little different.
It looks like:
- compression socks and heartburn
- swollen ankles instead of sexy heels
- dry shampoo as self-care
- and a baby who thinks 2 a.m. is the perfect time for cuddles
And yet… this is one of the most love-filled seasons of your life.
“I Don’t Feel Cute Enough for Photos”
I hear this all the time from expecting moms.
“I’ll wait until I feel better.”
“I don’t look like myself.”
“I’ll do photos after the baby is here.”
And then years later — almost every single mom tells me the same thing:
“I wish I had done maternity photos.”
Not because they felt perfect…
but because they want to remember this version of love.
The anticipation.
The quiet excitement.
The last moments before your life changes forever.
True Story: The Valentine Session No One Expected
I once photographed a maternity session close to Valentine’s Day where mom told me she “just wanted one nice photo.”
By the end?
- Dad was crying
- Mom said she hadn’t felt beautiful in months
- And they booked newborn photos before they even left the studio
Because seeing yourself through someone else’s lens — especially during pregnancy — can change everything.
Newborn Love Hits Different
And then baby arrives…
and suddenly Valentine’s Day isn’t about roses — it’s about tiny fingers, sleepy snuggles, and that overwhelming kind of love you can’t explain.
Those first weeks are messy, exhausting, and magical.
They’re also gone in a blink.
That’s why I always say:
Newborn photos aren’t about perfection — they’re about preserving a feeling.
A Boutique Studio Worth the Drive
My studio is located in Big Spring, Texas, and families regularly travel from Midland, Odessa, San Angelo, Abilene, Lubbock, and beyond for a calm, cozy, boutique experience.
You don’t have to stress about:
- what to wear
- how baby will behave
- or feeling awkward in front of the camera
That’s my job — you just show up and love your baby.
Valentine’s Reminder (This Is the Urgent Part)
I take a limited number of maternity and newborn sessions each month so every family gets the time, patience, and attention they deserve.
If you’re:
- currently pregnant
- due in the next few months
- or holding a newborn right now
This is your sign to book.
Because the one thing every mom has in common — whether they booked or not — is that they wish they could go back and freeze time just a little longer.
